Teresa Alpert

Teresa Alpert is a highly respected expert in lower extremity biomechanics with over 30 years of experience in orthotics, pedorthics, and patient care. She currently serves as the Orthotist at the Foot and Ankle Institute and holds a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado.

A pioneer in her field, Teresa established and implemented the DME and O&P division within the university’s orthopedic department. Her diverse responsibilities include training residents and fellows, collaborating with the Gait Lab, participating in clinical research, and providing direct patient care.

Teresa completed her orthotics and prosthetics coursework at Northwestern University in 1987. She also studied at Ball State University, Apex University, and completed Pedorthic training at Eneslow. She holds certifications from both the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) and the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC).

A dedicated professional, Teresa was previously the owner of ShoeFits Comfort Center and Perfectly You. She has served as Chairwoman of the BOC Board of Orthotist, Prosthetist, and Pedorthics Certification and Education, and as Education Chairwoman for the National Shoe Retailers Association.

She currently serves as President of the Pedorthic Footcare Association (PFA) and was recently appointed to the Allied Health Workgroup for the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) and to the Advisory Council for the Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention (LEAP) program.
