Alicia Harvie is the Senior Manager of Community & Government Affairs Team at REI Co-op, where she oversees its federal policy portfolio covering public lands, outdoor recreation, climate, outdoor access and more. In addition, she oversees the co-op’s Cooperative Action Network, a civic engagement program for its 25 million members and 12,000 employees, as well as the co-op’s employee impact engagement program.
Alicia serves as a board member of The Conservation Alliance and Eastrail Partners, and also serves on the business council for Business for America, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization focused on improving civic health by increasing civic participation and voter turnout, reducing gridlock and polarization, and setting a positive example for business engagement in the political sector.
Prior to REI Co-op, Alicia was the Advocacy & Farmer Services Director at Farm Aid, a national nonprofit organization and America’s longest running concert for a cause. There she worked with rural communities and farm organizations across the country on policy advocacy, movement-building events, philanthropy, and direct service to communities. It was there that she unlocked her passion for bringing diverse stakeholders together around a common cause.
Alicia has a M.S. in Agricultural and Environmental Science & Policy from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, and a B.A. in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Tufts University.
