Jonathan Jarosz is the co-founder of Land of Outsiders — the big tent outdoor industry coalition for Michigan. Jonathan is also the coordinator for the State Outdoor Business Alliance Network (soban.org). He along with his colleagues from California, Maine and Vermont will share the work being done to advance non-governmental state outdoor alliances across the country, and their work to grow SOBAN into a national voice. While much of the buzz exists around state offices of outdoor recreation, the non-governmental efforts have now successfully established themselves in 26 states and 2 Canadian provinces. These outdoor alliances are often responsible for the advocacy work done to create state offices, as well as offer an unfettered voice in support of the industry.
