Heidi Prior is helping shape the future of outdoor business in Appalachia through her work with the West Virginia University Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative. She is leading the formation of the WV Outdoor Business Alliance and produced WV’s first Outdoor Economy Summit, convening industry, community, and policy leaders around a shared vision for growth. With a background at the WV Small Business Development Center and more than 25 years in the outdoor industry, her experience spans guiding rivers worldwide, serving as a river ranger, and leading marketing for one of the country’s premier whitewater outfitters, along with contributing to national initiatives with America Outdoors and Miles Partnership. She brings both on-the-ground experience and strategic insight to the national conversation around Outdoor Business Alliances.
