TRAINING CAMP THEATER: Let Them Race: Making Space for All

Moderated by Nick Kovaleski, a race director and activist, in conversation with Cal Calamia, a trans/non-binary runner and activist, and Sofia Camacho, a non-binary runner, this panel will address questions and obstacles that event and race producers may encounter when adding a non-binary division, and how to solve for this in the future. Cal has played a major role in ensuring that all of the World Marathon Majors have non-binary divisions and podiumed in all of them. If these races can incorporate a non-binary division, then your local race can implement one too. With growing importance around this category, there’s an opportunity to not only be more inclusive, but to scale your network and grow your business. Together, let’s find a way to make space for everybody and all bodies who want to run and to consider adding a non-binary division to your events and races.
