Charles Cooper is a Founder and Managing Partner of Brumidi Group, where he advises Fortune 100 companies, nonprofits, trade associations, and coalitions on federal advocacy, communications, political positioning, and policy risk.
With nearly two decades of experience in and around government, Charles helps clients navigate complex legislative, regulatory, and political environments, develop effective advocacy strategies, and strengthen their D.C. presence. He has led successful efforts to pass major legislation, mitigate policy threats, shape regulatory outcomes, and manage large-scale issue campaigns.
Charles also serves as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on organizational strategy, crisis and risk management, acquisitions, and partnerships. Before founding Brumidi Group, he served as Managing Director and Chair of Advocacy at a lobbying and strategic communications firm and spent more than a decade on Capitol Hill, including as chief of staff to a Member of Congress and to a congressional leadership office.
He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and history from Southern Methodist University, where he serves on the alumni board.
