Ashlee Green is a strategist, storyteller, and community builder who has spent over a decade shaping how culture shows up in brand work – and how Black women show up in wellness.
As co-founder of RUNGRL – an agency and lifestyle brand centering Black women in wellness – she leads creative and strategic efforts that bridge community and commerce. Through content, experiences, and brand partnerships, RUNGRL works with leading companies not to extract from Black women, but to build with them – closing the wellness gap by creating space for their stories, their joy, and their power.
Her agency expertise is foundational to this work. As VP of Accounts & Culture at Creative Theory Agency, Ashlee leads a multimillion-dollar client portfolio representing the majority of agency revenue. Her work spans brand strategy, partnership development, and cultural storytelling for clients including Google, Amazon Music, Meta, and Sephora. She’s led award-winning campaigns, built revenue-generating partnerships with global reach, and developed strategic frameworks adopted agency-wide.
Before launching RUNGRL, Ashlee helped grow District Running Collective into one of the oldest and largest running communities in the United States. DRC became a model for what community-led movement could look like – and its influence helped spark the nationwide boom of Black-led crews, clubs, and collectives now thriving in cities across the country.
Her work in the running space has been featured in Essence, Runner’s World, Outside Magazine, PopSugar Fitness, and more.
Ashlee moves through the world as she runs: with intention, rhythm, and care. Whether guiding brand work or building space for Black women to move and be seen, she leads from the in-between – where strategy meets culture, and where movement becomes a form of presence and power.
